Do you customers have questions about the new Medicare Benefits?

The document here in the Express Scripts Remittance Advice has been prepared by the Pharmacy Care Alliance to inform your customers of the Top 10 Facts about New Medicare Benefits.  The Medicare Prescription Benefit is new to eligible beneficiaries and this document is intended to provide useful facts about new benefits.

At your discretion, please copy the document here and place into retail shopping bags and staple to prescription bags.  It is important to note that because CMS mandates that no discount card can be advertised prior to May 3, 2004, the materials only contain general information about the New Medicare Benefits.

Who is Primary Care Alliance (PCA)?

The Pharmacy Care Alliance was formed by the National Association of Chain Drugstores (NACDS) in 2002 as a not-for-profit entity.  Its purpose was to unite groups from across the pharmacy spectrum that were interested in educating seniors about prescription drug assistance programs.

In 2003, NACDS later joined with Express Scripts, Inc., one of the nation's largest pharmacy benefit management firms, to work together under the Pharmacy Care Alliance umbrella to create the Pharmacy Care Alliance Prescription Drug Discount Card.  The foal is to help Medicare beneficiaries get the most from the new Medicare law authorizing prescription drug discounts to Medicare-eligible patients.
