Forest Laboratories, Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of new COMBUNOX, the first and only combination product containing oxycodone and ibuprofen. Physicians will soon begin prescribing COMBUNOX for acute, moderate to severe pain.

COMBUNOX combines the strength of oxycodone and ibuprofen

COMBUNOX provides increased analgesia along with the anti-inflammatory properties of ibuprofen- at 400 mg, the highest dose of ibuprofen available in a  combination opiod product.

COMBUNOX is proven to provide significant pain relief and a reduction in pain intensity over 6 hours.

As shown in postoperative pain models, COMBUNOX provided significantly more pain relief and a greater reduction in pain intensity scores than oxycodone, ibuprofen, or placebo (p<0.05).

COMBUNOX provides long-lasting and rapid pain relief

A postsurgical abdominal study showed the analgesic effect of COMBUNOX to be long-lasting- a median of 5.23 hours. And COMBUNOX provided rapid pain relief- A median of 22.9 minutes- in 2 postsurgical dental studies.

High rate of patient satisfaction with COMBUNOX

Therapy with COMBUNOX resulted in higher rates of patients satisfaction than treatment with oxycodone, ibuprofen, or placebo (P<0.05).

In a multiple-dose study, more than 75% of patients rated COMBUNOX as "very good" to "excellent".

Safety and Tolerability has been demonstrated in both single and multiple-dose studies

Simple dosing and administration

COMBUNOX (Oxycodone HCL and Ibuprofen) Tablets (CII) are indicated for thew short term (no more than 7 days) management of acute, moderate to severe pain

Dosage should not exceed 4 tablets in a 24 hour period and should not exceed 7 days
