RE: Revised Recall Notification Process In order to continue to improve our Retail Level Recall Notification Process, AmerisourceBergen is implementing a process change effective immediately. We are changing the Retail Level Notification Process where the primary customer notification method was delivering notification letters through delivery totes to a method where retail level notification letters are sent by First Class mail. For Retail Level Recalls where you were supplied recalled product by AmerisourceBergen, a Recall Notification letter will be sent to your address via First Class mail. The envelope containing the Recall Notification will be marked URGENT DRUG RECALL Attn: Pharmacy. Please ensure that every Recall Notification letter is forwarded in an expeditious manner to the appropriate people within your organization. Check your inventory and if you have any recalled product, please comply with the Recall Notification instructions. A shortened recall notification note will be placed on all invoices for every Retail Level recall. This note is intended to make you aware that a retail level recall has been communicated to AmerisourceBergen. If you have any questions about the recall notice on the invoice, please contact your AmerisourceBergen Customer Service Representative for more details. For any Class I Retail Level Recall, every customer who was shipped recalled product by AmerisourceBergen will receive a Recall Notice via tote in addition to the letter via First Class mail. The Recall notice will be included with your first shipment after the AmerisouceBergen Division that ships your product receives the recall notice. Typically, this is within 1 to 3 days after the receipt of the recall notification by AmerisourceBergen, depending on your delivery schedule. In some situations you may receive a Recall Notification Letter with your delivery even though you may not have received recalled product. Please ensure that every Recall Notification is forwarded in an expeditious manner to the appropriate people within your organization. Check your inventory and if you have the product, please comply with the Recall Notification instructions. If you have any questions, please contact your AmerisourceBergen Customer Service Representative for more information. Sincerely, Thomas J. Renkey Director, Supply Chain Services |
